If you only train at home he will only listen at home. Then in public he won't listen cause of the distractions so public training in a class with a instructor he will be able to atleast give you guiding light. Make sure to socialize your dog with people an other dogs so your song isn't people or dog aggressive

Train him to do what? Dance? Jump? Speak? Sit? To walk on a leash? Come what you looking to train him to do? Two Months u said ur pup is? I would work on drop for toys and sit and come at that age. And there are people you can hire to come I your house to help you train. The key is not to go too long each day but to make sure you work with your dog everyday. Patience and time and effort is all it takes!

If you're a total newbie to training the best thing you can do is find a trainer to work with. Without seeing the dog and it's temperament it's very hard to offer advice over the internet.

IMO not always the case but for a beginner yes I'd work with a trainer.
Ive trained my dog myself at home, he's never been in ob classes or seen any trainers and he's great in public. Id work on different things when we were out or on walks but that's about it.
