Yesterday I took Opie and Lucy to a meetup with some other local Am Bully owners for an unofficial fun-show and to let the pups play and socialize. Despite an unexpected thunder storm earlier in the day we still had a blast hanging out with other bullies and their people.
Opie as always, giving his signature woe is me face on the way over
Lucy, meeting Ana's 14 week old pup, Ursula
We split the 8 dogs into 3 classes for the show: puppies under 6 months, puppies 6 mos-1 year, and dogs 1 year and up. Lucy took first place in her age group and then ended up taking "Best in Show" in the final round. Too bad it wasn't a real show, she'd be on her way to her CH title by now lol. But everyone was super impressed with her, her build and the amount of energy she has.
Attempting to stack Lucy here.
Opie actually stacked up pretty well considering he hasn't really been getting it when we've practiced at home, he can't seem to grasp the whole holding still part. But one of the gals snapped this pic of him and he did better than I thought. He looks so much like his sire, Zeke, in the face.
Down to the River
My dogs weren't really sure what to do with the water...they weren't impressed lol.
Ana let Lucy try out Nova's weight pull harness and Lucy ended up dragging her 60lb drag sled the entire length of the yard and back. This was the first time Lucy had ever been introduced to the idea of weight pull, I was very impressed with how little encouragement she needed to pull, I think I need to get her started with pulling, she's a natural!
Gratuitous butt-sniff pic, lol
There were some attempts at getting all 8 dogs (keep in mind, more than half were pups) to do a sit stay for a picture, we didn't manage it but we came close and some pretty great pictures resulted.
It was an eventful day, and a successful gathering of great people and amazing dogs.
Ursula(tri) and Jabba (blue brindle)
These two crashed hard when we got home
Thank you for looking!
