Bruno got a harness

So I bought a padded harness for bruno from stillwater. I plan on rollerblading with him and letting him pull me, right now I'm just getting him used to walking and wearing it. He's not a fan lol.

Here's some pics. He just turned 9 months and weighs 65lbs (fatty lol)

Nice! I have been eyeing those for a while myself for Camo for when he pull me on my longboard. I want him to hit a year old before I spend the cash though, so I am sure I only have to buy once.

Thanks everyone.

DickyT, i am going to wait until a year before i let him pull me, but i bought it now to get him used to wearing it and i wanted to try walking him with it also.. i'm a little worried about it not fitting him in a few months, i bought the large which said 45-55lbs. and he's already a fatty at 65 lbs lol.. it fits him on the very last hole, so i'll probably have to buy another one. but i liked the padded on and its the biggest stillwater had. For some reason i thought i remember it saying 45-65 and i didn't know what he weighed at the time. but it still fits, i'll just need a new one soon.

i purchased a stillwater also which we used for a while, but it doesn't fit properly.

check out cold river supplies, they sell really nice custom walking harnesses. here are a couple pics of their stuff. I just ordered a weight pull harness from them

Thanks beatrix kiddo, those look really nice. i wish i would of saw those first lol. i'll get one of those once he outgrows this one.

what do you guys think about letting him pull me on the rollerblades and start running with him, is a year ok to start that? he's 9 months now so i'll have to wait until after the winter for it probably. right now its just walks, no running or pulling yet

I rollerblade with my girl all the time. I started at about 10 months, to get her used to walking next to me in them. I'd let her run short distances, tried to keep her in the grass most of the time. She's almost 18 months and we are going to start upping the intensity and distance. But, i think it's a great idea to go ahead and get him acclimated to the exercise, just don't push him, keep it easy and fun for him

I started having Camo pull me on the longboard at 7 months. I do not let him pull me from stopped. I push a few times to build up some speed, then all he has to do is maintain inertia. That is easy once moving, my board has hard wheels and abec 7 bearings, which with 3 pushes can coast me 1/2 way down the block without the dog.

I started out by just going up an down my street. once he was used to that we started going around the block. By the time we started going around the block he does it at a full sprint for 2 laps, a trot speed for a lap, then I pushed off a bunch to get us home.

Coming up on 10 months now he will full sprint it for 6 laps, trot for 5 more, and by then I am usually hurting enough in the knees and lower back from squatting that when go by the house I steer him into the driveway.

I just let him set the pace and don't push him when he acts tired.

I've been real happy with this harness from Stillwater. It will most likely outlast the dog, and my boys have accepted the challenge.

Thank you. The harness is a good one...fully adjustable, and the leather is very durable.
