Natsu scares me......all those shepherd type dogs do LOL. Dakota, when pushed, looks like he could hold his own. That 4th pic of Natsu with the water hose makes him look like a werewolf!
Haha yes, I usually call him my werehyena when I take pictures of him with the hose.
Dakota's definitely surprised me! For a long time we couldn't get much out of him in bitework, and I believe I understand why now. Dakota's a serious dog(I don't mean like "Dayum that's a serious beast"), he looks at situations quite literally. Many shepherds can do this work and just stay in prey, thinking its a game. We always thought Dakota would be soft, so we tried to convince him it was a game thinking he would bite better. But he still saw it as a real confrontation and Dakota needs a good reason to bite someone. So once we started working with this new decoy, who wasn't pretending to be Dakota's friend a switch just went off and he was on it. I feel much safer walking by myself now lol I like that he has a high threshold though, Natsu does too right now.
