No I actually teach them from the start to like water... Try getting a slip lead from your vet and tying the head to the tub (wear the soap goes) don't do head till last, it helps to keep from getting scratched
I personally don't have a pit bull anymore .. I am the crazy person on this board with Presa Canarios, Malinois & Parson Russell Terrier... But all who know me on this board knows I will always have a passion for the pit :)

Oh my god I LOVE Presa Canarios. I can't find a breeder around me. But my girl hops in the tub and bites at the water during her bath.

Thanks for reminding me that my crew needs baths lol. Wish all my dogs could play. Im already worried flex is going to eat the neighbor Scottish terrier.

My German shepherd took a long time to start accepting baths, now he just lays down which is SO much easier than struggling to keep a 90# dog in a slippery tub. Still have to be on guard though, if he thinks he can wiggle away from me he will try. Xena is not crazy about them either but she's small enough that I can hold her still. I try to give them a little massage when I do the shampoo to help them relax, seems to help some.

How many do you have? My lab mix is 9 years old so she's kind of mellow...my Bully is 10 months and he's always trying to force her to play with him.

Once my dogs are in the bath tub they're pretty okay, it's getting them in that can be a bit crazy haha

Oh yes. The chasing and then breaking my back heaving my shepherd into the bathtub is more work than the bath itself! I'm lucky Xena likes to follow me into the bathroom anyway so I can trick her :D

Cain's Mom 04-08-2013 11:43 PM

Cain is easy. He jumps in the shower with me. Haha
