Jumping on people for attention
My 8 month old Loki is a total sweetheart- since the day we got him he has been a sweet boy, not hyper most of the time, easy to train, affectionate, etc. He is now potty trained, listens to commands, and in general is an amazing pup. However, he jumps on people to get attention and it's frustrating when I walk him and with every person that walks by I have to hold him back cause he stands on his hind legs, ears back, and tries to lick them. He also tries to run after kids outside (he is always leashed, but he will pull on the leash and try to run after them). I know he won't bite them, but that obviously doesn't matter- chasing and jumping on people is not ok in my book. What to do?? He doesn't pay attention to dogs barking, and now doesn't pay much attention when a dog walks by (took some time to get to that point, lol), but with people- it's really frustrating, esp since there are more people out there than other dogs. Same thing when anyone enters the house- my mom, an HVAC guy, a delivery guy. He starts jumping, trying to lick the face, and paws for attention. We don't have kids and dont have people come over, so we can't really practice to not jump on kids as well...
