5 month old puppy barks at old dog wanting to play non stop
Thunder met a 12 year old pitbull who seems well balanced, he will give growls to not touch his stick or ball to thunder if he's got it in his mouth but won't play with him, thunder doesn't seem to mess with his ball but also doesn't seem too phased by the growls (the owner says he won't play by the river where we were but will at home) But thunder just non stop barks at him to play, the old dog doesn't seem to correct him on this and doesn't mind. the owner said he's not phased.
I think it all began when this little 12 week old bull terrier pup came over and as soon as it got out of the passenger it ran to the driver side where thunder was greeting my friend, it just started mauling him, like the cat apparently cops according to my friend, thunder ran inside and up on the couch where the pup couldnt get him, but it was still trying to climb up, thunder was only 16 weeks at this stage eventually thunder would come down to see the pup but just get mauled and he would roll over, so they put the pup on a lead, thunder still just Stood and barked and I would silence him occasionally, when ever he got too close the pup would bite him, eventually I encouraged thunder to play back, thunder was muh bigger and was gentle but just rolled the pup over etc, this worked out well, they wanted there dog to have a play mate that could be bigger and thought he would learn his place, it rained and they left. This was thunders first proper play with a dog as he would just give up to big adult dogs as soon as they would wanto play.
Thunder is very submissive but the dog doesn't wanto play with him but won't correct him or when he does he keeps barking and he's a non stop bark machine what can I do? Walk him away when ever he barks at him? I think he needs more dogs to play with so he can learn some play some don't he's met lots of dogs but not many have played with him
