Having gone through it several times I feel your pain. It never gets easier. For me, when it is inevitable, the sooner the better. I truly am sorry for you and him and I know it will be tough on Lina too. My thoughts are with you and I'm glad that you have family around you at this difficult time. Rest assured that you did everything possible and that your compassion outweighs your own desires.

Not sure if we should let him go here or wait until we get home. Heís degrading rapidly so we may have to do it here.

It wasnít supposed to be his time. His much older sister Lina was supposed to go first. Iím heartbroken and as depressed as possible but at least Iím here with family.

Thank you all again for the help and support. This is definitely the worst part of owning a dog. He had a great life and brightened up my life in ways I never knew.
So sorry. You're right this is the hardest part of owning a dog, no doubt. We've all been through it. But it doesn't get any easier. There's no wrong way to mourn. You do what you have to do. You've got your memories. Lean on them on weak times and remember, his pain has ended. God bless. Stay strong.

Thanks again all. We called a local vet where weíre camping and theyíre coming out tomorrow.

Spending as much time with him as I can now. This year has totally sucked and I canít wait until itís over.

Thanks again everyone!

Ogie is gone. We had to put him down on 12/27 while we were camping. There was a great local vet who came out to help us.

He is terribly missed and I'm not the same without him. Some days are easier than others, but not having him around really affects me.

Sincerely sorry to hear and I know what you and yours are going through. Console yourself in knowing that you did everything you could and that Ogie is out of pain and discomfort. I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain but I know that only time heals that wound.
Hoping that 2020 is a better year for you not only as far as your pets but your personal life too. hang in there and feel free to vent here or in a private message. My best regards.

Joe

So sorry to hear nubwagon. All of us on this forum feel for you. We've all had to make the hard decision one time or another. As jttar said, I wish there was something I could say or do to help you through this. As for now, prayers for strength, for you. God bless and stay strong. Feel free to vent to us anytime.

Gotta get these kids back up & going!
I didn't see the age of your dog and I disagree with your vet. Good luck. Keep us up-dated!
