So my co-worker tells me how her friend (he's a postal delivery person) was attacked by a pitbull. He needs his knee fully replaced and he killed the pitbull during the attack with a sawed off pool cue he carries with him for protection....
First thing I ask "Is he positive it was a pitbull and not just some untrained dog?"

"Oh he's positive!" she said

So I sent her the link of "find the pitbull" and told her to send it to her friend so he could point out his assailant in the crowd.....

Ya wasn't a pitbull after all, BUT still made the news!

That makes me so mad. Pits hardly ever attack and they get blamed for it all the time.

I think it all depends on the owner, in reality, so many dogs sit on a chain in the backyard with no socialization they really dont know how to act. pit bulls will be exactly what you want them to be, loving and gentle or intimidating and aggressive . unfortunatly we are not the normal pit bull owners. if we were, you wouldnt here any negative press.
I really am proud of you guys, you rock!!

Those are all such great pictures everyone!

I wish I had pictures to post of my deceased Pixie, they are on a different comp, I will get them in my gallery when I can.

It really helps being able to see all the wonderful pits like this.

I will have to come here all the time. Too bad it took a tragic incident for me to find this site.

He's so aggressive that they let him play at dog daycare! Shame on the onwers of the daycare for letting such a "dangerous" dog be accepted in!

I weigh only 105lbs Legend weighs 80lbs when I walk him people run to the other side of the street but they don't think. Do you really think I would try and walk a dog that is capable of pulling 30-50(maybe even more) times his weight if he was aggressive toward people. If they really thought about it he would have yanked me across the street with no problem!

Those are all cute pictures!

I think the "danger" is dependant upon many factors: genetics, training, breeding, socialization.

Also, most of the genral public cannot distinguish human aggression from dog aggression and they get confused.
