lyndatorochip is an unknown quantity at this point
I agree with the previous posts: Raw diet is supposed to give dogs loose stool initially but I don't think you are giving your dog appropriate raw diet. Please read up on it in the links provided by other members. My dog eats raw chicken quarters with bones, no grain or veggies. I also include liver, heart and kidneys. You need to give them the appropriate % per category for a healthy diet. He shouldn't be loosing weight as a puppy either.

Dogs who are raw fee need BONE!! To keep their poop firm. Do not boil the chicken, don't give rice, and don't give broccoli! And Dont give cooked bones. You are just asking for the runs.

Put him back on the kibble until you read the Prey Model Raw website and have everything in order and follow exactly what they say. Here is the site: PMR Articles - articles - Prey Model Raw
The person above gave your the site for the BARF diet, there is a big difference in feeding the PMR diet and the BARF diet. You need to read up on both and decide which to do. Both need to be done correctly. Rice and other grains are not digestible for dogs and many blue dogs are allergic to grains, like rice.

You need to give him just chicken backs/ leg quarters for 3-4 weeks straight. Perhaps a leg quarter in the morning and a chicken back and a chicken leg for dinner. That is all! For 3-4 weeks.

Once he has been good with that for 3-4 weeks, then you can start giving him organ meat, which is lung, kidney, liver. You can give it to him in just one of his meals, just a little bit at a time. Like around a 2 inch long piece of organ.

But please, just put the pup back on kibble until you really read that site. Raw is great for dogs but it needs to be done RIGHT!
This is the most informative post in this thread. Read these words out loud and then read the information in the link.. Raw feeding can be very harmful and stressful if done incorrectly. There are very specific percentages of meat vs bone vs organs that make up the diet that are necessary to keep your dog healthy and their stool consistent.
Please do your research before changing the diet of your loved one, as you would care for your own..

They are a vet, and a business, of course they are going to try to sell you stuff. May be because they sense an unknowing in you they are trying to fill.. maybe they just like to sell stuff to people.. but having an opinion on YOUR dog is not out of the question at a vet, they are looking out for the wellbeing of your animal more than you know.. trying to get you to change your mind about an ear crop is something I might have done too so.. especially if the pup is older..

Just as a point of advice.. all Ive read is about chicken,, there are other meats, and it cant just be meat and bone especially back and neck bones.
Throw in some organ meat (ie, kidney, liver, heart, lung, etc.) and some rib bones or something with marrow,, just don't do leg bones from BIG animals..
also,, a carcass of an animal is one of the best ways for them to eat raw

Curiosity killed the cat so why am I curious George? seriously, don't get upset, all curiousity... but when you say you've always had like 4-5 dogs.. do you mean Pit Bull breeds? or other dogs? I have to keep humble here, as I don't want to start anything more than what this is.. But there are soooo many things to consider when deciding to allow multiple dogs to live freely together.. but if we aren't talking APBT then we can stop here.....
