I finally did it...

My dogs are on day 4 of raw now. Cleaning their kennels has been lovely... lol. Everybody is on chicken leg quarters for now until I get their poo regulated. To any raw feeders after introducing turkey next what is the best protein and cut of meat to go with? I've finally found a local Butcher that is easy to deal with so I'm going to go ahead and order my meat in bulk. I'm also going to add ACV and coconut oil, eggs occasionally, and they were all on DE already. Any other tips or tricks? I've read the PMR website several times but it's sometimes easier to learn hearing from somebody doing it right now.

Kind of off topic, but with the DE... I've heard conflicting information. In a WP group I'm part of, one person says 30 day cycle twice a year of DE for treatment. Shanon (Blue_Nose_Bella) says she uses daily. I'm considering using it, but with differing info, I'm not sure where to start. Also, the cattle grade they sell at TSC, I heard they have too much calcium bentonite in it and to get it from a holistic or health store?

That is cool to hear Paola! I'm sure once they transition over you will love it! Way less poop!!
After the chicken I just gave small amounts of beef, pork, turkey, sheep, goat, etc. and threw in an extra pork neck bone or chicken back since those are boney and it would keep their poop firm. I have never had any runny poop since doing it this way oh and DON'T give any pumpkin, it just masks the issue which is usually too much fats or not enough bone. Same thing goes with when you ad the organ meats, give them an extra neck bone or back to keep the poop firm while they adjust to organ.
Don't hesitate to PM me if you any any questions! wow for all your dogs you are going to need a huge freezer

I haven't heard anything bad about the DE that I'm using but I'll look into it. I'm using it daily for mine.

Ya we have a big outdoor chest freezer that was empty except for a badger and some deer heads so I made my step son take those out and I'm gonna use that for my dog food. I just finally decided I'm spending over $600 a month on a grain free kibble and at this point I'm struggling with it so raw will not only be cheaper it will be a million times better for the dogs. I'm excited. I can already see how much happier the dogs are too... The only downside so far is the way the dogs are acting to each other. I've had DA pop up in 4 of the 8 through kennels. Meaning they were in kennels or crates next to each other and showing extreme DA. It's crazy how much of of a difference raw makes.

Make sure it is Bragg's ACV and not the jankity processed brand in the cooking aisle. It is completely different.

Ooooh thanks for the tip. Where do you find that at? I didn't know there was a difference. Glad I asked for advice.

Well, they are probably just being possessive over the high value food....not necessarily DA raw doesn't cause aggression...sounds like they know its yummy stuff and don't want any dog near their food! Haha
It's definitely time consuming though-- bagging and cutting up organs and meats. I hate that time of the month that I buy their food LOL!
I get my Bragg's at the grocery store as my store carries several varieties

I also drink a couple of teaspoons a day as it keeps my face from breaking out.

Ya sorry that is what I meant. I couldn't think of the word I wanted to use. I still can't lol. I've heard it called something but it's not coming to mind. After the food was gone everybody went right back to normal. It was just the high value of the food to them that caused it. They sure don't act like that over kibble. Lol. Resource guarding? Is that the right word. Hell I can't remember... i forgot to add right now it's pretty simple since I'm only feeding chicken but my Butcher told me he can package the meat for me for a small cost so i just need to decide what amount i think each dog will need at a serving and then order a certain amount of each size package. If that makes any sense.

What is de?

My regular grocery store carries the good ACV so it might be in the grocery depends on how yours it set up. Some stores have an organic section like lauren said. Just look for any organic variety with the mother or WTM or unfiltered or pure. I have seen it written in different kinds all ways.

DE is diatomaceous earth. I'm using it in place of my monthly flea, tick, worm, heartworm meds now since there are so many bad stories going around about them.
