RAW DIET that I used

This is what I used and don't mean I know anything at all, just what I did and worked pretty good IMO. This is just part of the equation, trial and error and reading are better sources. I used this.

Meats:
There is two basic kinds of meats
muscle meats and then organ meats, you need alternate these when you can but it isn't a big deal if not but if you can afford too that would be awesome.

MEATS
*muscle meats:
beef, chicken, turkey, deer, fish (mackrel is cheap and works good) fish you need to research depending on the area you live in

*organ meats from any of the above animals except fish
#1 calf livers, excellent but exspensive
anything from a cow (beef) or deer, (chicken and turkey products) - livers, gizzards is what I used and then eggs could be lumped into this also

CARBS
brown rice (best, but you can use white but isn't as good I promise)
egg noodles
ramen noodles work, no spice packets guys LOL

VEGETABLES

You need a main base and this was carrots for me, so many different vitamins are achieved through carrots
collard greens, apples and oranges, cooked sweet potatos, green beans, beets (every so often)

ADDITITVES
multi vitamin (must be crushed up no more than half the horse pill), yogurt, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, bone meal, ACV, flax seed oil, fish oil

FAT
Beef fat is the best (butcher will give it to you for free), lard is secondary

Another way to figure it out and I used this.
4% of the dogs weight
50% meat,raw bones or organs
30% fat source (raw fat, not lard)
20% vegetables
Alternating is the key, so they are not overloaded on certains vitamins or minerals

I am at work and got cut short.

I alternated the meats I feed also something like, 2 days muscle, 1 day organ, then 2 days muscle meats, then 1 day fish fish and then probably two/three times a month meaty bones for the day with nothing else except that.

I always fed the same carbs and vegetables unless big meat bone days

Additives I fed everyday yogurt, cottage cheese, multi vitamin (something I started later in quest for raw) bone meal, flax seed oil and fish oil.

Alternating additives were cheddar cheese twice a week, ACV every three or four days, beets (one slice twice a month)

Also, what is ACV?

apple cider vinegar, but be sure to use the organic stuff...

I am a big fan of using a probiotic power such as Digestive Enhancer

Would the vitamin supplement they make be good in place of a multi vitamin, or would the vitamin be better?
Nature's Farmacy - Store - Product Details

Also, what amount of the above additives (cheese, ACV etc) do I use?

I bought some already prepared frozen patties for them, and the bulldog wont eat it, even though I know he likes just about everything in it. I broke it up and mixed with kibble, so there wasn't much at all, but he wouldn't touch it. So I will try making my own, and see if he will eat it, such a picky boy, my girls will eat anything, I heard chewing while I was in the shower today, and Lady had carried a huge rock into the house, and was laying on the bathmat chewing it lol.

I perfer the powdered supplements that are gear toward dogs specifically. That is just a personal preferance. I find the powders easier to mix up in stuff too

There is a million ways of doing raw, it just comes down to time and money. I can feed for $5.00 a day or you can feed for less than a dollar. That part is up to you. The multi vitamin is just the generic Walmart multi vitamin for humans.

I'm sorry about the never ending questions. I went to trader joes, and got a bunch of organic stuff. I think to begin with, I am going to only feed Thrall raw, and only one serving a day, and he will have kibble available to free feed. If it works out, I will switch him up to 2 raw meals a day, and I will start the girls as well.

So how much ACV do I give every 4 days? and where can I buy bone meal? How much cheese do I give 2x a week, and how much yogurt or cottage cheese do I give every day?
Also, I bought organic chicken, organic ground beef, and organic salmon, is the salmon an ok fish to feed raw? If not I can just use that as people food. Trader joes was out of brown rice, so is it ok for me to use organic oats until it comes in stock?
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help you have been giving me.

My stinker won't eat it lol. If I hold out and let him get hungry I'm sure he will eventually eat it, but since he seems to be taking well to TOTW Pacific Stream I am going to hold off a bit. I do toss him some raw chicken when I cook, and he loves raw carrots, but mix it all together, and he turns up his nose lol. My pit girl, and pug girl loved it, but they eat anything lol.

Sometimes you have to starve them out to get them on the right path. Do kids want Mc Donald's (made specifically for them to want, engineered for them to want it) or red meat & vegetables? Same principle behind it. Try a bit of water in it with an egg, raw.

Mix the egg and a cup of water stir it up really good, then throw in the other stuff. Try that and see if it works.

Fasting your dogs is humane, I fast myself to clean my body out. They will be fine, I fast my dogs every so often. Good way to cleanse the body and I give them distilled water on those days. I fast them before dog shows, no food for 16 hours before the show and no water 8 before the show. They show better.

So if Im feeding kibble right now, how would I go about switching over to raw. Do I just make one of her meals raw and the rest kibble, or mix a little raw in with each kibble meal or just a little raw in one of her kibble meals?
