I would think that would be the easiest way to ensure they are getting the proper amount per feeding. But im not too experienced in raw feeding
I actually am already planning on getting a nice scale when my husband gets his next big paycheck lol.

Keep in mind that there is a detox time period. Ecko looked like shit for a good three months. sparse hair, underweight. I just upped his food intake and rode it out. Also, each dog will have a different metabolism. So you'll prob need to keep an eye on each ones weight and intake. INcrease when they look thin and decrease when they look chunk. You have a lot of dogs. I'd recommend a notebook to keep tabs on who looked like what and when. 6 months to a year from now you'll forget this even happened.
I guess it seems longer. They've been on raw for about a month. I am having a couple dogs having hair loss too and Omg it's killing me. I just can't stand for people to see my dogs like this. I don't want an obese dog but a nice pet weight would be nice for now.

You can get a digi scale on Amazon for like $10. That's where I got mine. Don't spend an arm and a leg because you won't be using it forever. In time you'll be eyeballing it like the rest of us.

ONLY A MONTH and you're in a panic already? Guuuurl, slow it down a bit. Patience is key. Up their intake and wait it out.
Don't worry about what other people think. You are doing the best thing for them in the long run, just gotta wait out the couple of months of shit.

It seems way longer lol. I guess that's because feed time takes an hour or more now instead of the 10 minutes it used to take... I'm only in a panic because I have nosey family that says my dogs are emaciated and people that want pics of my dogs and I can't have them say "oh that dog is too skinny I'm gonna come take it back..." I'm just gonna take a deep breath today and hope I can last another 2 or 3 months of this lol. Fingers crossed... and in the meantime I'm definitely going to be adding some more fat to their diets.

I hear about my dogs weight all of the time. I keep him on the thinner side in the warmer months because we do more and he has bad feet. My response to these people is.
"I could only dream of having someone control my diet so I would look more like an athlete and less like a couch potato."
Then I tell them I spend hundreds of dollars at the butcher for him to eat while I spend $50 at the grocery for myself.
Don't let what others think change your mind about what you know and feel is best for YOUR dogs.
I'm pretty passionate about this stuff. I've had full on arguements with my mom about Ecko's weight. He won Custom K9 Gears collar contest at his slimmest. LOL!
Anyways, I told her until she pays my mortgage, or fills the freezer to feed the dog then she has no say in how he looks.

And was getting the same thing he was getting when I first started -- the difference was that we stopped working out and his body was fully adjusted
