Need advice for raw diet...

I've got all of my dogs on a raw diet now. Initially I noticed change in all the dogs for the better. Since then it's been a downhill battle. Everybody is losing weight. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong right now... All of the dogs are getting 2 chicken leg quarters a day and then Cash and Slayer both get 1 lb of venison every day. Twice a week I'm adding 1 lb of ground beef and some meaty pork neck bones to their chicken and twice a week I'm adding bone in pork ribs. Buffy, Cash, and Slayer are getting eggs twice a week for their coat and everybody else is getting eggs once a week. They're all getting beef liver, chicken liver, heart, and gizzard twice a week and I'm working on getting tripe. (So far I can only find bleached and honeycomb.) Everybody gets de daily, acv 2-3 times a week, and coconut oil 2-3 times a week. I've been reading constantly and I know I can do more damage than good if not fed right so does anybody have any tips for me? I would rather go back to kibble than have skinny dogs

Maybe more red meat? I mean, your plan doesnt sound bad to me.. have they been wormed recently?

How long have they been on raw? and are you feeding the correct amount for their body weight?

I don't think what youre seeing is skinny, but instead youre seeing fat free..

Your diet is a super high protein diet, and with exercise the combination works together to build muscle and tissue and burn fat..

If you want to see mass on the body instead, then you need to introduce some fats to the diet. Add in some pork meats and pork belly, or fattier cuts of beef..
some hearty chicken soup or potato scraps can help too

As Pookie mentioned.. are you feeding the appropriate amount vs their weight?

I personally give the same thing everything, as in I give organ meat and the main meat source, etc every day. The main meat source might not be the same but the proportions are the same. I give a small chuck of kidney and liver everyday, a piece of heart, about 1/2 cup of ground beef, 1 chicken quarter, and pork neck bone. Plus I give them my little extra twist of veggie blend. The only thing that changes is the chicken quarter. Sometimes they get sheep, goat, venison, or fish. Does that make sense? I know when I first went through the start up on raw they looked thin too, but after 6 weeks they started looking great!

All of your dogs vary in weight so some should be more pounds than others. They are probably just loosing the fat though! Post some pictures of them and what you are feeding that particular dog. It will help are you seeing a lot of spine and hip bones?

Ok I'm trying this ish for the last time. Lol!! Basically yes I'm seeing protruding hip bones, spine showing, and more rib than I like on some of the dogs but there is weight loss on them all.

ALL of the dogs get 2 chicken leg quarters every day. Everything else is being added on top of that. Also if this helps with portion size I buy my chicken leg quarters in 10 lb bags and there are always 8 in the bag.

Slayer gets 1 lb of venison daily, 1 1/2 lb of ground beef 73/27 with several meaty pork necks two days a week, 3/4 bone in pork ribs two days a week depending on size, one egg two days a week, a chunk of beef liver, 3 chicken liver, 3 chicken gizzards, and 3 chicken hearts two days a week, and acv/coconut oil two days a week and de daily.

Cash gets 1 lb of venison daily, 1 lb of ground beef two days a week with a few meaty pork necks, 3/4 bone in pork ribs two days a week, a chunk of beef liver, 2 chicken livers, 2 gizzards, and 2 hearts two days a week, acv/coconut oil two days a week, one egg two times a week, and de daily.

Buffy gets 1 lb of ground beef with a few meaty pork necks two days a week, 2/3 ribs two days a week, a chunk of beef liver, chicken liver, gizzard, and heart two days a week, one egg two days a week, acv/coconut oil 3 times a week, and de daily.

Hennessy, Belvedere, Capn Morgan, and Kahlua get 1 lb or ground beef with a couple meaty pork necks two days a week, 2/3 ribs two days a week, a chunk of beef liver, chicken liver, gizzard and heart two days a week, one egg one day a week, acv/coconut oil two days a week, and de daily.

They were all on monthly Trifexis pills but a few months back I stopped that after hearing about the amount of dogs dying. Right before I put them on de a couple months ago I gave them all a 3 day dose of panacur. Now they get varying amounts of de daily. I will go back and see how long they've been on raw I can't remember the date off the top of my head. I actually think I'm feeding more than necessary for their body weights just because I figured it would be easier to shave weight off than put it on. It takes a while to build that top line back up but it can be trimmed down way faster.

Thanks I will definitely look into some pork belly or some cut of meat to add extra fat.

I will post some pics in the VIP section of a couple. I'm embarassed right now :/ I've never wanted obese dogs but to me they are just too thin.

Their stools are all good albeit very small. Lol. The bags of chicken say on them USDA inspected, less than 4 percent retained water, may have an extra thigh or drumstick to maintain weight? Idk. I've only bought one or 2 bags that didn't have 8 pieces in them and they had little pieces of meat and I just gave them to other dogs... The pieces of meat actually don't look as big as you would think.

maybe you can get a scale and physically weigh their meal. Figure 3% or 4% of their body weight that way even though quarter size varies and you can't always feed the same portions meaning 2 legs. maybe it'll be underweight and you'll need to chop a 3rd piece in half. I would think that would be the easiest way to ensure they are getting the proper amount per feeding. But im not too experienced in raw feeding

Keep in mind that there is a detox time period. Ecko looked like shit for a good three months. sparse hair, underweight. I just upped his food intake and rode it out. Also, each dog will have a different metabolism. So you'll prob need to keep an eye on each ones weight and intake. INcrease when they look thin and decrease when they look chunk. You have a lot of dogs. I'd recommend a notebook to keep tabs on who looked like what and when. 6 months to a year from now you'll forget this even happened.
