Flying pittie to Dubai...nail biting
I am a long-time stalker and two-year pet parent of Lady, my three-year old mixed breed staffie. Great personality and a member of the family.
Just got married and my husband and I are moving to Dubai. We have traveled with Lady before to Uganda. It went well and we got her back home to the USA--not a hitch (and whew!).
We are now having a stressful time with getting her to Dubai. Cargo is a must. Her breed is not permitted and the pet relocation services do not want to touch us. We have a vet in Dubai who does sympathize and has listed her as a lab. retriever mix on her import permit. We tried to ship her as cargo on Emirates and she was refused. Emirates is quite strict we learned (but were following the advice of the receiving company--we were told that the Emirates terminal would mean less wait time for her).
To get her to Uganda we were able to fly her on KLM as checked baggage. No one looked in the crate and she was calm and quiet. She is a mix and is not a strong-featured pit but she has a somewhat boxy head. We are using KLM again and I'm nervous about shipping her cargo and how strict they are about her appearance.
Perhaps there is something you know that I don't know...and man I would sure appreciate the knowledge, tips, support. I am nearly to tears.
