Tracking issues

I am freaking out a bit since our club trail is just around the corner and I am having a few issues.

Siren can find the end of a 3 leg track but she tries to back track a bit sometimes. She really just acts like a spaz for the first 1/4 of the track but she is going somewhat in a straight line it just does not look pretty. Any ideas, I have 3 weeks till the trail.

I honestly would not try to change too much. With only 3 weeks away, you could probably do more damage than good. Maybe keep her on a short line and do not give her a chance to come back on the track. You may want to lay tracks a little shorter than normal. She could also be food stressing a little, so maybe increase her feed portions at mealtimes.

I didn't cut her food back to track with her but your saying if I feed her more she might not go as fast or frantic? Does that even make sense the way I said it? lol
I had thought about that but I think I will give it a try and also shorter tracks is a good idea. thanks, I think I am more worried about everything coming together in a short amount of time. I tried to chicken out on the one but my trainer has been pushing me to just do it. Maybe it's me! thanks Howard.
