origins

Ok, so from what I heard is that the American Bulldogs were created because the Olde English Bulldogs were going extinct and then Allen Scott & John Johnson went out all over the south looking for Bulldogs and then they breeded them, am I correct ?....and does the ABD have Olde English Bulldog...

I'm looking for a book called The Dogs of Capitalism: Origins by Mitchell Jones. I can not find it anywhere... The cover is full of pictures of Pitbulls and I've heard great things about the book. Does anyone have any info regarding it? Even contact info on the author/publisher? Or maybe...
