I have 2 APBTs, a male that is 5yrs old and a female who is 1yrs old. My grandfather bred and produced these dogs from his own stock, let me make this clear he is not a back yard breeder. When he breeds it is to ether produce working dogs for the family's farms or for catch dogs or to keep then line going. No puppies are ever sold. They are ether split between the family members or if there are to many puppies to keep they are fixed and found good working or pet homes. Never are any of his dogs sold for profit. OK. Now that iv got that out of the way my grandfather is sick and can no longer run the farm or the dogs so they have been split between the family. My male and female are half brother and sister. Same stud different dams. Up until this point I had no clue that there mothers and father was registered with the ADBA. All parents of my dogs have ADBA registration papers. I have talked to my grandfather about this in regards to why he never registered any of the dogs witch still have numbers as there names due to he never sent them in or never filled out a litter registration form for any of the puppies. All he had to say was that he didn't see the reason, since he never sold any of the puppies and he knows what he has. So, when the Dogs where split up I picked the two dams and the stud of my dogs. My Question is can I single register my male and female thru The ADBAs single registration form or is it a waste of time because they cant be registered now?

First and foremost, :welcome: to GoPitbull! I have no idea about the registration, but you have definitely come to the right place! I am sure someone around here will have the answer for you. Sounds like you come from a good family of APBT owners. :)

ADBA has to have atleast 3 or 4 generations of registered dogs behind them... the only other registry theyll take is UKC

Thank you, I'm glad to be here. Nice to find good people to talk to about this wonderfull breed. Our family is devoted to the breed. My grandfather has been in the breed for more than 50yrs he got his first APBT when he was 13 and owned them ever since. He is a wonderful dogman in my eyes. I really want to compete in confirmation and or weight pull with these dogs. They are my grandfathers legacy and I want to follow in his foot steps and make him proud. So I'm very sorry if I seemed a little defensive or high strung in my first post LOL. Let me introduce my self my nick name is pit or flea depending on who you ask. Family nick name is flea, but my friends in the fourth grade started to call me pit so they both stuck. I'm 23, I live in Nc, where I am currently a student at AB-tech studying to be a Vet Tech. I live on a farm with most of my family, there are 3 farms in my family, I own 6 APBT of my own now, on the farm they are work dogs with various jobs - herding, live stock protection, cart pulling ( ya I use them for cart pulling the feed bags to feed the live stock. I know I'm lazy lol.) And my brother trains his dogs for hunting, But I'm not really into that. But After the work days over all my dogs turn in to loving couch potatoes LOL. American pit bull terriers are the only dogs to live or work on any of the farms. In my opinion they are the ultimate all-around breed. P.S I'm a Girl Lol not a guy Lol,

I have the pedigrees for the father and the two mothers that was in a envelop with the father and mothers ADBA papers, I have the ADBA reg. Papers for the father and the two mothers, but he never gave them a reg name, it just shows a number where there reg. Name should be. If I go a head and send off the papers and get them fully reg. Could I not use the single registration forms thru the ADBA to register the 2 dogs that I have that where produced from them? I know I can't use a litter registration form due to they are both over a yr old. If I'm my making much since or I'm messing up sentences I'm on my HTC desire writing this and its a touch screen and its a pain in the side to type on LOL

if you have the registration papers for the sire and dam then you can register your dog.... all you need is their numbers..
