My staffordshire bull terrier pup , 16 weeks, has a case of demodectic mange. Vet did a skin scrape and confirmed it. She gave me a shampoo to use once a week, as well as oral Ivermectin liquid.

My question is... the dosage the vet said to give the pup seems high. He is 20 lbs. Her instructions are:

.1 CC on day one, then an additional .1CC per day thereafter until you reach .5CC, then stay on .5CC until the next visit (30 days).

.5CC seems like a lot for a 20lb dog. Maybe she just wants to knock the mites out fast. Any thoughts?

Do what the vet says and then alter (spay/neuter) the dog.

do what the vet says, myself, i dont know the doseage, i'm not a vet either.

but recently, its was found that ivermectin will get rid of the mange.

i'm gonna write down your numbers, that the vet give you for a 20lb dog,
so if i run across it i'll know,

by the way, thanks for asking, that helps my bulldog knowledge a little bit more
