I know its old school but has anyone had success with it? I've read some old keeps that had it but used a walking harness. Has anyone done this? What harness did you use? Did you like it? I was thinking of doing it but using a conditioning harness instead of a walking harness.

When you type in allcaps-it implies that you are yelling. No big deal.

I usually do handwalks, emill during crappy weather or winter, tug of war, and some weight pulling.

I use a drag chain, 4ft long and 75lbs that dog pulls it as long as hes out side, Hooch had it on him when he hit the bull and I used to use it to wrap around like a harness with some saddle hide southern engineered to cover the chain and pad the dog, so Hooch could wear it while running and hurdles aka round bell rounds as I called it 24 rows down and back down and back... Hooch was so strong he pull that chain through a 1/3 acre pond and could pull a 1500 Chevy scotsdale pickup 50yds, he was ripped fuel litterally. I use the same chain on Hoagie and for Turk as well; Im Old school, I like the sleds,, but a thick link 75-100lbs chain 3-4ft long is superb get your 4ply collar and thats all you need.. Hooch toppled almost everything he encountered with that damm chain on him as he rain 140 acres + back in Nowata days.

weve do it with chains and tires.. the noise of the chains help get them used to the noise of the track... we just use the pulling harness.. the only thing we use a walking harness for is the mill

You have pics? Send some to me if you can.I was thinking of just using the conditioning harness and clip them to both sides.

Okay, we got some sunshine today and tomorrow so I will be out with the dogs anyway; I will take pics of the chain the dogs with it as well.
A buddy of mine is a welder for offshore riggin pumps and he has access to heavy anchor chain most of us civilians can't get. CHeck places like this to find the heavy chain and links ;)

I just started using this method... I met with a guy who dogs all dog WP and I asked if he has a sled set up at home or anything and he told me get a harness and 20ft for chain. the heavy one lol and he walks them a mile in the am with it and a mile in the pm with it at the park. After long they will drag it with lil effort so he said to loop it from 20 ft to 10ft and the loop dragging will create more drag for the dog. He also said to try and mix it up from concrete to grass and stuff then after a while we can start walking hills. My boy looch loves it. We are going to get him a harness from still water, cuz I dun like how the chain runs between his legs with the walking harness b/c we clip it to the bottom. Ill go take a pic and show u what I mean.

well its snowing today.. but I will take a few minutes and show ya a drag chain that I have found to be safer for the dog and more effective than loggin chains, anchor chains and rigging chains are the best, HUGE links .. weighing 10lbs per 12in and more ;) .. BRB

Haha- I'm waiting. I found tow chain grade 70 at the part store and it's 20 feet long. I think it weighed about 26 lbs.

I might just go and get that. Its not too heavy. It's just long as heck lol.
