I'm trying to grasp the feeding concept first. Raw vs Kibble. I bought Acana kibble along with Natures Variety Bison medallions. I guess I dont needa be feeding both. Trying to get a full grasp of that..
As to food, there are plenty of threads and info out there to look at. Stick with what works for you and your pup. Personally Acana is pretty good kibble, i feed Orijen and swear by it. Excellent results all around, same company produces both.
Raw, as ive said in another thread today i love the idea of it. However ive never known of anyone to feed 100% raw throughout adulthood and senior years without using kibble in addition or other alternatives. Its great in theory but i have yet to see someone truly stand by it using it 100% as a feeding method. So as far as that goes, i don't personally see it.
If you want something that uses both the idea of raw but in kibble form, check out Orijen. I personally feed Orijen 6 Fish and Regional Red. However they do have puppy formulas as well, these kibbles are high in Protein so you would want to do a trial if you chose to try it to make sure your pup will like it.
I have always fed high protein diets as long as i've had dogs with no problems. You just need to make sure you A. make sure they have plenty of water during the day and B. right after feeding make sure your dog stays relatively calm (not jumping, off the wall) for a good 15 - 45 minutes to limit bloat risks.
