Ok, so my sweet pup has mange. at first we thought it was food allergies we changed her food a couple times as well as put her on benedryl. She met getting worse. To her to the vet for the second time.so she had a skin scrape done ad t ere were mites. So we started her on ivermectin daily for 4 wks. It's been te an she's worse. Like losing hair like crazy. My poor girl. Should I give it more time, or go ahead and make the borax concoction I read about. I I st ent her t feel better.
Go get NuStock and coat her body in it. If you read the reviews on amazon people have had luck with getting rid of mange with NuStock and the stuff your vet gave you
Yea, This is common with young bulldog, pit bull puppies. I'd say another week or 2 and you should start seeing it getting better. 1st the meds have to kill all the parasites, which may take a couple weeks depending on how bad the case is before it starts healing. I've read great things about NuStock, but it is so smelly, I never put it on my newest pup and let her small case of demodex (a couple small patches) heal with med (Advantix Multi). I have multiple dogs, and whenever someone gets a cut I use Bag Balm, been using it for years on the dogs and us humans. The tube of nustock I bought is still unopened and you can still smell it. IMO 8 to like 15 weeks old is too young for signs like that being a food allergy. Pups start to lose immunity from moms milk around 2 1/2, 3 months old, and that's when mange will start to show.
