ok... I'm new to this site but..... I finally own another pit... 
... it has been around 4 years since my last pit Luna was hit by a car 3 days after her first birthday... i deemed myself an unfit mother and locked myself in my bedroom for 3 days, with the sheets pulled over my head sobbing...

I now have a 3 yr old daughter... until around christmas we had a cat...for her to play with... until my boyfriend developed an allergy to the cat so we could no longer keep it in the house... and my daughter was asking for a puppy... i told my b/f that i would not own a dog unless it was a pit... i was raised around them and i KNOW what wonderful family dogs they are... so he agreed to let me have one even though he is one of the majority that thinks they "turn" have a "locking jaw" and are "vicious".... he..he..he.. i won the argument and he gave in.... we got a puppy that was given to us... his parents were from a kennel in TN where i was told that the owner had died and all the dogs went to a kill shelter... well a lady went to TN and brought back a male and female pit... the female was 8 months old and was accidentally bred by the male.. the pups were 3 weeks premature and almost didnt make it, but i got one... i was lucky enough to welcome into my family Artemis on Jan 1st 2011....born Nov 22 2010

Well i was talking to a guy last week about selling him my old car that didnt run... i went to his house and there she was..... chained up to a pole... in the mud.. in the cold... with a plastic barrel for shelter... she was on her tippy toes when she saw me... licking her lips, smiling and sneezing she was so happy.... i took her home... muddy feet and all in the back seat of my b/f's moms nice clean impala (i think she is still mad at me for that one)... straight to the bath tub and then straight to my heart... i do not know her history... they guy i got her from had only had her for 2 weeks.... she was skin and bones... with scars all over her face... i do not know if she has been fought or if it is just from a random fight... but she is great with the 3 other dogs that run loose on my road and also GREAT with my daughter and Artemis... you can tell that she has wanted this her whole life... just someone to love her... and my couch to sleep on.... oh i think my boyfriend understands that pits are misunderstood its all just a "bunch of bull"
i cant believe i waited this long to get another pit... im back... never will i live without one again....
I love pit bulls.... they are the worlds biggest lap dogs
