need help and advice

My 4 year old Pit girl, Delilah, keeps attacking our new puppy. Its a Ambullneo mastiff who is about 30 lbs already.

Delilah has been in heat and almost over.

I walk them twice a day and they get along fine. She has attacked him now 4 times in last 4 days.

Does she get jealous when she attacks?

Will getting her fixed help calm her down. I am the alpha in the house.

This new dog is our son's dog and we want to keep him but are afraid that Delilah will hurt him.

We have also have Kobe who is a labrador beagle that Delilah grew up with. Kobe and delilah get along great.

I am bummed that I will have to tell my son that we will have to give the dog away.

Any advice anyone?

If the male is intact and she is currently in heat, it MAY be the cause of the friction. It's not a sure thing though. Spaying may help, but it could just be her genetics kicking in.
