Okay my girlfriends chow moved in with me and Leah 2 weeks ago. Fozzy the chow lived with his sister for his entire 2 years of life the were rescued together.fozzy seems fine he crys a lot at my house and my girlfriend thinks he misses his sister which he still goes to see almost every day.well fozzy is losing patches of hair and leaving bald spots .every body is saying its from stress.wondering if any body agrees with this or what you think.

I will say that it sounds like Separation Anxiety though.

Because if inbreeding chows have developed skin allergies one of which is to grass,,
Chows are also prone to a type of skin cancer, whod a thunk it with all that hair.. Very well could be stress induced but if the hair is coming out to the skin so that its skin not just shedding hair then you might need to take the dog to the vet.

He is mixed chow and he has chow like hair (real fuzzy) and his sisters is not she looks like a German shepard.there is two spots he scratches and bites .it definitely noticeably bald in them spots and skin is red.the house he came from had radiators for heat as I have central.his skin seems dry could this have something to do with it.

A couple of years ago I had a roommate, who moved in with me and she brought her cat. Welll the cat didn't take too well to the change and he lost nearly all of his hair. After about a month it started to grow back and now he's completely normal. She took him to the vet and all the vet said was that it probably was due to stress...
