Hi everyone, my name is Lindsey.
Yesterday I ended up with a 9 month old boy.
His name is Hemi, short for Hemingway.
So I've never owned a Pitbull before I've had one other large dog, a Doberman.
I'm really excited as I've always admired the breed.

A little about me. :) I'm 22 years old.
I'm about to graduate from nursing school.
This is my only dog.
I do live at home however we have 7 acres.
Their are two other dogs in the house which are my moms.
A mini poodle and chihuahua, which Hemi loves!

A bit about Hemi.
So far I know that he loves to run, walk and play with a tennis ball.
He's yet to make an accident in the house.
He's not fixed, but has an appointment on Tuesday.
He's a sweetie.
He is also enrolled in some basic obedience classes.
So in short, I'm new and I have a ton of questions.
I'm nervous/over protective as this is "my" first dog, but I have experience with large breeds...
I've just never been the sole care taker before.

Here is a few pictures of my hunky boy.

addressed, is that plastic clip collar,...that is a no no for bulldogs.
order one from here: (or gizmo the mod sells them too)
Bulldog Supply Company, Pitbull collars, leads, leashes, and weight pulling harness
get a 2 inch regular or padded nylon. measure as stated. also a bull clip leash will be needed and a breaking stick
to complete the bulldog 101 pkg.
good looking boy, and you can use the search option to find a ton of content. =]~

Do I have to do the 2 inchers? I mean that's so bulky.
if you want to contain that dog properly either on a leash or
on a tie out for extended periods, it's a must have. these dogs
require preventative maintenance or "WE" risk losing much
if your dog is at fault. might i also suggest not neutering him,
as it's only going to make his health deteriorate much faster
as well as sacrificing bone mass and brain function. spay females,
leave males intact, and our overpopulation problem is solved.
do some research if in fact you're on the fence about it.

WELCOME!! He has a very handsome squishy face. :)

Nizmo makes awesome collars. I got Ecko a 1.5" collar. Between the nylon and the workmanship it's VERY solid. And come in very bright colors if you want.

You'll love it here. :)

I believe Niz may have another site, but I haven't linked it to mine yet so I can't find it lol.

A sturdy collar is a must for this breed.

He is a HANDSOME guy! I love a rednose :D Read around this forum and ask any questions you need. We have a ton of knowledge flowing on this forum from every point of view you could think of.

I have never used them so I couldn't say, however you can get a sturdy collar from one of the places we listed for less than $20 and spend the difference on bones! Lol. Those are very nice looking, but like I said I have no info on their quality.

I REALLY wish I could find something like that on Amazon. I have a 75 dollar gift card and would like to use it to get this collar... However I can't find anything on Amazon...
