Okay I was just curious does anyone else on here have a pit that goes crazy when your vacuuming? Lol Shorty is so bad I have to put him in a separate room, he bites the rubber part on the end of it and picks the whole thing up with his mouth and pulls haha...

Vacuums, lawn mowers...if it's loud and mechanical Loki wants to murder it. Brutus was the same way too. We have to crate Loki when we vacuum and he makes some bizarre noises while we are vacuuming. My husband compares it to the way the raptors in Jurassic park sounded. Ha ha!

Yep it is a mechanical thing for mine. She hates the mower and anything that moves that is loud. My lil cousin that she loves to death brings his dirt bike over and rides in our field some times. She chases him going crazy lol. When he gets off she attacks the tires lol. She dose the vacuum and mower the same way, after they are turned off. I think they believe these things are trying to hurt us. That's just my thinking though.

That's always been my train of thought, that it was a protective thing. Brutus once grabbed my husband's dirtbike tire while it was moving sending the bike and my husband over the front of it. Silly dogs!

i think he is weirded out by it, mostly... but he will get up from his bed and prance into the bedroom or hallway and watch me from behind the door, while laying down lol

once the vacuum goes back into the closet, hes back out and playing, he watches to see if the closet door opens and what i reach in and get from it. haha

Kangol bucks on the vacuum, but he doesn't really mind it. He lets me take the hose attachments and put them on his back, face, and nose. He's super weird though.

LOL, Gracie attacks the vacuum too. I always have the vacuum in one hand and a spray bottle in the other.

Pheonix and Gixer will attack the end of a weedeater while its running.... the really hate it. i dont know why because they are fine with the mower and tractor... its just the weedeater. we actually had to buy a whole new head for it beacuse Gixer grabbed a hold of it while it was running and broke it..

Maggie doesn't like the vacuum and mostly sits on the stair landing watching me use it but once in a while and out of the blue she'll just run up and attack it.

Like everyone else who's posted dogs - she doesn't like the lawnmower or weedwhacker either. We had to keep her on her leash when we lit small fireworks last year cause she wanted to bite lit fountains!

And once when I was walking her she started barking at this lady in her yard and I corrected her and hurried by. I was so embarrassed cause she's never acted that way towards a person. Then I realized that it wasn't the lady. It was cause the lady was holding a hedge trimmer. On a ladder no less.

I'd like to get her to stop reacting to loud machinery. Jake isn't afraid or aggressive at tools or loud devices at all but I have to pay closer attention to him when using power tools. He once stuck his nosy snout right under my saw blade just as I was starting to pull it down. Close call!

Miss is not fond of the vacuum either. She will try to get it when I am not paying attention. She is afraid of the lawn mower though. She will also chase waves.

Athena does the same thing. I've got a video of her "attacking " the hose and doing this high pitched squeal/bark I need to post. It's freaking hilarious!!!
