I recently went through a divorce and had to move to Las Vegas, of course I took Akasha with me. I found a wonderful place to live close the college that I am attending. After already paying all the fees, and getting the house - The Home Owners Associations calls me and states "I'm sorry but we have a policy that restricts any Pitbulls from living in the houses in the surrounded area". Get this it is ONLY Pitbulls and no other breed of dog. So I'm lost with what to do, I cannot go through another down payment etc, too much money has gone into this house so pretty much I am screwed.

I need to give up my dog, the only thing I have left from a horrible divorce. I need to find her a home before Tuesday, since this is the time limit they have given me.......is there anyone near or around the Las Vegas area that can take in another addition to their family? Please help, Akasha is too sweet and loving to be given to an irresponsible owner. This dog is my life, my everything - Please send me a private message and I will give you my contact information. A dog interview with other dogs will be required, along with a contract that will state to give her back to me if something goes wrong.

PLEASE HELP! Also if anyone has any ideas or anything please let me know ASAP. We will make arrangements!

I cannot afford a lawyer -

About 3 months back someone irresponsible allowed their pitbull to run loose and it attacked someone, they went through a lawsuit and came out with this policy. The Realtor had no idea, and tried to work out something with the Agency to require me to pay a penalty for keeping the dog. But they simply said no - its their butts that are on the line. Everything has been tried, yes I am thinking clearly......

I've already signed the contact and there is no backing out. Believe this dog is my life, I have already lost my son. I am not here asking for sighs, and omg why didn't you think about this sooner. I have had this dog as a puppy, and I have tried everything. Yes I could probably live in the streets, but what life is that for a dog. I could do week to week, but the only thing I got from the divorce was the dog, I have no transportation. Nevada economy is a walking Depression for those who are scrapping the curbs for bread crumbs. My x husband didn't want the dog, so now what am I to do.

I thinking about the well being for the dog, not myself. She is NOT leech that I cannot get rid of.

Believe me if I had another option I would do it!

If this post asking for a responsible owner to take over Akasha's well being is going to cause you to attack me - and accuse me of giving up on my dog - then let me know I will gladly forget that I even asked.

I live in Las Vegas and I may be able to help. I already have 3 of my own so I won`t be able to adopt her, but I have responsible friends who really want a pit bulls but are just looking for the right one. Send me a PM with a little about her and some pictures and I may be able to help you find her a home. I may be able to foster her if push comes to shove. I`d hate to see her in Lied or another shelter.
Even if I have to hide her for a few days - I refuse to put her in a shelter!

No I didn't get the update rules and regulations - but what's done is done. They just changed them 3 months ago - the lawsuit about the pitbull attack really put them out - threatened foreclosure on their properties. I have already moved in - paid the fees - and no I'm lost in a mist of tears.

If I had not already paid the down payment and started moving in then I would close the deal. But the contact is signed and sealed - I hate HMA's and with I had the money to support the deal of trying to keep Akasha there. Trust me I dont want to do this - but I refuse to put my dog in a shelter and I refuse to give him to someone I dont trust - I know most people who join this forum are responsible and try their best to keep their dogs out of harms way. This is the only reason I asked - I mean I could try Cragslist but then I risk someone tying her up outside and beating her to death.

Her spirit is too sweet and loving to be broken. As much as Im sick to my stomach now - the thought of someone irresponsible with her - beating her would kill me.
