Mary Jane is the toughest dog I know. Her ear swelled up about a week ago, and we gave her some Benadryl b/f bedtime thinking something bit her. When it didn't go down it a day, we took her to the vet. They had to lance her ear open and when I picked her up she looked like a war survivor. She's got a few stitches on her ear & half of them come out tomorrow. The other half come out Monday. She's a trooper and they said she did great with the anesthesia for such an old girl. She'll be 11 this year. Sometimes I forget how old she is b/c she don't act old yet. She still plays like a puppy. I love that dog.

Awww... Poor Mary Jane. Give her some extra loving for being such a good girl. Our Rufus was still clear-eyed and playful at 13. And I couldn't even see all the gray on his face till I looked at pictures after he was gone.

I hope she stays forever young - and doesn't get any more ear boo-boos.
