we adopted our boy about 3 weeks ago; we were told he is a blue nose pit; however he had red on his shoulders, tips of his ears and back of his neck. his coat is a dark grey and is only red in those spots when he is in the sunlight.

Your dog's coat color is blue. The highlights are normal.

Ha! Exactly the same with mine. It's a very pretty color! Silver with green eyes, copper tones in the sun

Hi, I'm trying to find out if I have a red or blue nose pit? The shelter had her listed as her coat color being blue but she is actually more brown. Blackish along her back and redish around the shoulders. Her muzzle is silver along with the top of her head. Blue Nose and amber to brown eyes. Any thoughts?

Your dog is blue and clearly has a blue nose.

Thank you, any ideas what she might be mixed with? The vet said possibly a mastiff as she is big for a female weighing 69 lbs. However, I've seen other pit mixes her size but she's very jowlly with a very squared muzzle. Thoughts??

Unfortunately there are so many mixes that can be combined to look like her. Mastiff may be in there. XL American Bully. 69 lbs isn't giant, but def too big to be a pit dog. So, Bull Breed Mix is as good as it gets without a pedigree.
Good looking dog BTW. Looks like a giant mush ball. My favorite kind of bulldog.

Haha she is but only in the house. She is a nut case outside. Unfortunately she is extremely high strung with a lot of anxiety. We've had her six months now. Hired a private trainer epic fail. She just finished with her second trainer which was a board and train facility and proud to say she is doing extremely well on a leash. We haven't ventured out of the yard yet but what we've seen so far is a million times better than when we first got her. She still has a long way to go and we are vested in her being as good a dog as she can be. Thanks so much for your input.

Props for sticking with her and doing your best by her! She is a pretty girl for sure. She reminds me of Diesel, he had a big blocky head like that and was about the same size.

Haha Ciaramama I rely don't have a choice but to stay with her. We have spent so much money in these last 6 months to try to get her under control because we feel she is worth it. We are dedicated to having a happy and healthy life with her. She still has a long way to go before she is trained enough to be trusted. Thanks for your support!
