Action Alert ... one more time!

We're in the home stretch and must keep up the pressure for Governor Rick

Perry to VETO the HSUS and Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN)

Anti-Breeder Bill HB 1451. This bill is not written to regulate dog and cat

breeders but to eliminate them. The requirement of minimum standards equal

to federal (USDA) regulations means home based breeding in Texas will become

illegal.

The exemptions for certain working dogs are not defined and qualifications

will be written by an Advisory Committee. It is impossible to find an

impartial advisory committee in this state as the extremists have

infiltrated all levels of government, State Bar Animal Law Section, humane

societies, animal controls, etc. Remember the THLN mole, Della Lindquist,

in Texas Dept. of Licensing & Regulation that helped write the bill? Animal

Rights Extremists are opposed to all working dogs and pet ownership in

general.

Please renew all efforts. If the bill becomes law without Governor Perry's

signature, he still "owns" it. This will harm his future political

aspirations as he's contemplating running for president. Tell him all eyes

are on Texas! Veto HB 1451! Save Our Pets!

Action Alert Nationwide!!!
All eyes are on Texas! Has Texas sold out to the highest bidder? Or will
Governor Perry save the day for animal owners? We join with many other
groups seeking a veto of HB 1451 the HSUS Anti-Breeder Bill. The misnamed
"Puppymill" Bill - also includes "Kittymill" breeders. Good message below
that was forwarded to us so we're passing it on! Deadline for Governor
Perry to sign or veto HB 1451 is June 19th or it AUTOMATICALLY becomes law.

Attention Friends!!
This is a note that I sent to Governor Perry earlier today. Please call his
office and continue to ask that he VETO HB 1451. At this point he could
just ignore the bill and it will become law. We must have a VETO on HB
1451!!

Even if you are not from Texas, you can call and give your opinion. Perry
may be running for president and he needs to know that more than Texas will
be upset if this bill passes.

Please don't let HB 1451 become law by not taking a stand!! VETO HB 1451.

In Texas unemployment is high, homes are being foreclosed on, children don't
have health care, seniors don't have the social security promised to them..
Our schools are having job cuts, class rooms are getting larger and pay is
getting smaller. Gasoline is at an all-time high.

What does Texas do? Bring a bill/law that will add more people to the
unemployment list; breeding dogs does create jobs and does generate cash
flow down the line.

HB 1451 Bill will hurt the economy by cutting into the pet industry.

One would think the great state of Texas would set an example of not letting
PETA, HSUS, ASPCA and other Animal Rights Activist push them around. Texas
needs to get its priorities straight in order and stand up for the rights of
Texans. Stop this ridiculous HB1451 Bill and take care of more important
issues at hand.

Is the Lone Star State on its way to becoming a total Vegan State? Animal
Rights bullying won't stop with dog breeding. What will be next, no more
leather saddles to ride on our horses? Riding horses is already seen by some
as animal abuse. Texas Ranchers may be next and Hunting & Fishing will be
targets too. We may soon be wishing we had gotten involved when AR's were
only targeting the dog breeders. If you have an interest in any type of
animal product be it a puppy, a steak, a glass of milk, an egg, or a pair of
leather boots, please veto this bill.

HB 1451 is just the beginning. Wake up Texas!

Coming from a Tx resident, I have already contacted Gov. Perry's office, no response yet, but this bill is so ridiculous, everyone please contact Gov. Perry and let him know ho wyou feel, please remember to be polite and respectful and especially if you are a Tx resident. Thanks

Need to stop it while it's weak...

(4) "Commercial breeder" means a person who possesses
11 or more adult intact female animals and is engaged in the

this doesnt seem that bad... if anything it will help keep more dogs out of shelters in the long run. it will also help keep breeding animals healthy and hopefully prevent 'commercial breeders" from breeding animals with severe genetic flaws. thats jmo. but its your state do your thing

I am lost too?? It isn't exactly BSL right Tye? I think more states need to put fourth the effort from turning animals into money makers or cash cows as gamer said. We get alot of puppies sent here from down south to our shelters. Apparently S/N isn't as big around the southern states where there is country and land to roam. I am going by what friends tell me in those states and shelter workers I know here

Please unbunch your panties, I actually would support a bill that will prevent animals from being turned into cash cows there are too many people breeding as it is and they dont even know what they are doing. maybe if this was law everywhere there would not be so many apbts being killed every day in shelters. Just saying.......

well thats politics i guess, yeah he asked if he could pet her and kept saying how good looking she is. i think for him (like alot of us on this board) it is more the general "owners" of this breed and all the byb in our area that he has a problem with. not to mention that in all of our shelters any dog with short hair and a "pit bull" type head gets labeled a pit bull mix and then people adopt them or are breeding these mutts and then they attack someones dog or somebody and everybody turns to him for a solution. the guy is under alot of pressure.

The Republic of Texas, has always done its own thing.. They can at any point withdraw from the union without further due notice...

Oklahoma right north doesn't have that problem and they just abolished it on their supreme court level which means it can't be brought up again.
^^^^ More states need to follow suit with them(okla) as its a common sense law to protect our individual freedoms not CONTROL them.

This I can understand, living in Austin and going to the capitol I have fought many bills, and I do agree with you about the shelters labeling all short hair dogs as pit mixes. Is sad that so many want to do this cause they know they will get adopted out faster to the wrong kind of person. Ughhh
