Woman bitten by pit bull

Wednesday, December 27, 2006

GALESBURG - A woman was treated for minor injuries after being bitten by her pit bull yesterday.

Jessica S. Seefeldt, 19, 592 E. Grove St., took her one-year-old dog to visit Jillian C. McCombs, 20, 770 E. Third St. at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police reports, Seefeldt's pit bull and McCombs' dog started fighting. As Seefeldt attempted to break the dogs apart, her dog bit off the tip of her right index finger.

Seefeldt was treated at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and released.

McCombs' dog also was injured.

Seefeldt was cited for failure to register an animal with the city and failure to inoculate her dog with a rabies vaccination.
